Growing Developmentally – Learning Spiritually

Philosophy

  • We provide loving and educated Christian teachers so children learn about God’s love
  • To give positive guidance so children develop a confident and positive self-image.
  • Use developmentally appropriate curriculum so children learn using a hands-on approach to help them grow cognitively, physically, emotionally, and socially.
  • Guide children to learn about different family cultures.

Core Values and Beliefs

Each day classes from Wobblers through kindergarten follow a consistent schedule of events that include large and small motor activities, teacher directed and child directed activities, and group and individual activities.

Each day includes times for the children to develop socially, emotionally, and verbally as they choose activities from those set up in the room.

There is one or two group times through-out the day where they sing songs, discuss concepts, problem-solve and do science projects.

Art and other activities are incorporated into the day.

Outside the teachers let the children run, climb, jump, and slide. They also do games and large group led activities for the preschool through kindergarten age children.

The prekindergarten teacher includes knowledge and practice with the alphabet and numbers.

The preschool teacher begins an awareness of letters and sounds. All classes are literacy rich in language and written word.

Each family is a child’s first teacher. FBC Child Development Center values families as partners in the growth and development of children in our program. We encourage parents and other family members to be involved in the program, visit children’s classrooms, participate in events, and provide feedback on the program. We offer a variety of ways in which families can participate in helping us establish and reach our program goals.

FBC Child Development Center believes that children of all ability developmental levels are entitled to the same opportunities for participation, acceptance and belonging in child care. We will make every reasonable accommodation to encourage full and active participation of all children in our program based on his/her individual capabilities and needs. We will make necessary accommodations if at all possible to include children with special needs.
